Art Conservator was founded in 2006 by WACC and Timothy Cahill. Its full-color photography, innovative features, and accessible articles illustrate the conservation process and describe practical and theoretical issues facing the preservation of our cultural heritage. Each installment also contains a Technical Bulletin prepared by one of our staff conservators, which delves in-depth into a topic of importance to museum professionals and others working with cultural objects.
After the Center received a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in 2019, a third issue was added to make Art Conservator a triannual publication and Maggie Barkovic, associate paintings conservator, was named Editor.
Art Conservator is distributed free to our members, friends, and clients, as well as museums, art libraries, colleges and universities, and other interested institutions and individuals in the US, Canada, Europe, and beyond. Any nonprofit institution may request to be added to our mailing list.
