Atlanta Art Conservation Center

The Atlanta Art Conservation Center (AACC) is a nonprofit member consortium providing conservation services to museums, archives, historical societies and private clients in the Southeast. Treatment services include paintings, frames and works on paper, including photographs. Adjunct services include materials characterization and identification, furniture and decorative arts conservation, along with collections/facility surveys and preventive conservation workshops. AACC also serves as a center for information on all aspects of collections care.

AACC was established in December 2001 as a partnership between the Williamstown Art Conservation Center and the High Museum of Art to provide conservation services to cultural institutions throughout the Southeastern United States. Staff from WACC manage the 6,686-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility set up by the High Museum in Atlanta, Georgia. AACC can accommodate up to twelve conservation professionals. The lab is equipped with complete photo-imaging equipment and facilities and climate-controlled storage for artwork undergoing treatment.

To have an object in your collection examined or treated, or to arrange a consultation, call AACC at 404-733-4589 and you will be referred to the appropriate conservator. For more information, and for directions, go to http://www.high.org/main.taf?p=2,6.
